Vaitarna Farmhouse, situated on a one-acre undulating riverfront site at the foothills of the Vaitarna Dam in Nashik. The architectural planning responds closely to the natural topography of the site, with the built form and spatial orientation driven by the intent to capture expansive views of the river, surrounding landscape and mountain backdrop.

The planning prioritises openness, visual connectivity and a strong indoor-outdoor relationship. The living, dining and kitchen are conceived as a continuous open-plan volume, forming the social core of the house and extending seamlessly onto a large river-facing deck. A double-height volume framed by an expansive glass façade anchors this space, allowing the morning light to filter deep into the interiors while framing the scale of the mountains beyond as part of the spatial experience.

Large decks are strategically introduced across different levels and edges of the house, creating multiple outdoor gathering spaces while establishing a constant dialogue between the built form and the landscape.

A defining architectural element of the project is the large cantilevered pool along the river-facing edge. Projecting out towards the water body, its placement creates a strong visual axis with the river and gives the pool the illusion of an infinity edge merging into the landscape beyond.

The overall architectural language is derived from the site itself, using topography, orientation, scale, framed vistas and interconnected volumes to create a home that feels open, grounded and deeply integrated with its natural surroundings.
